The ‘kingdom of God’ is a central theme of the Bible that binds all aspects together – creation, salvation, the place of Israel and the church in God’s economy, God’s sovereign and divine will, human action and the end times. It is, therefore, imperative that the student of the Bible/theology should have a thorough understanding of the meaning of the kingdom of God.

In this study unit we provide the student with and overview of the place of the kingdom in the Old Testament, the preaching and ministry of Jesus and the kingdom as theme in the epistles. We discuss the relationship between kingdom of God and kingdom of heaven and look at various interpretations of renowned theologians and Bible scholars. The candidate gets and opportunity to gain credits for this study unit by completing the multipole choice questionnaire to test content and understanding.
