Wellness lifestyle support is based on the following premises:
- Wellness lifestyle support encompasses various principles focused on holistic well-being, including physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects, promoting healthy habits and behaviours for a fulfilling life.
- All human aspects of are related and mutually influence one another
- A holistic understanding is that we should take into account emotional, physical and mental aspects simultaneously.
- Lifestyle, peace, meaning and purpose all support wellbeing.
- Disease is seen as the bad fruit, therefore we need to support the roots.
Aspects include
Nutrition: Encouraging balanced diets, access to fresh and affordable foods, and reducing processed foods and sugary drinks.
Physical Activity: Promoting regular exercise, access to safe and accessible recreational spaces, and encouraging active transportation options.
Mental Wellbeing: Providing resources for stress management, mental health support, and promoting social connections.
Sleep: Emphasizing the importance of adequate sleep and providing resources for improving sleep quality.
Substance Use: Promoting harm reduction and providing resources for addressing substance use issues
