Bio

Marius Herholdt (PhD; DPhil) is the founding president of the ASCHP, a professional body for wellness counsellors in South Africa and director of a training institute.  He also serves as chair of the Natural Healers Association and the Council for Counsellors in SA as well as the Wellness Research Foundation.  He holds accredited post graduate qualifications in natural science, theology/philosophy, sociology and natural medicine.  This wide spectrum of qualifications enables him to work across academic disciplines in the domain of systems thinking and holistic healthcare.  Marius was a guest on TV health programmes a couple of times.

His career in training and education spans four decades which includes tuition and supervision for undergraduate as well as postgraduate students at various public universities and training institutions. He currently enjoys the status of visiting professor in the field of his expertise at the Gideon Robert University. 

His vision is the professionalization of the lay counselling movement in the domain of wellbeing by making use of skills development.  Hence Prof. Herholdt also serves as a registered assessor and moderator in skills training domain for healthcare providers. 

He is the recipient of various accolades and author of many training manuals in counselling, spirituality and natural medicine as well as the following recent books:

Marius lives on a farm in the Dinokeng bushveld area, Pretoria, with his wife Liezl and their two children, Daniel & Limari where he also runs a student support campus.
